ESL Website Evaluation
The name of the web resource is Activities for ESL Students by The "Internet TESL Journal" which has thousands of contributions by many teachers for ESL students.
This diverse educational source is designed to supply teachers and learners with immense activities, podcasts, quizzes, videos, journals and other useful ESL/EFL websites. It serves different ages and language proficiency levels (beginner- higher intermediate).
It is an interesting instrumental tool that fosters students’ development in their language skills performance. The forty five languages quizzes in vocabulary make this site distinctive to help bilingual students. The displayed content & production of this ESL site has mixed flavors of different experienced educators to match
learners’ and teachers’ needs.
For the technological features, any searcher wouldn’t find any problem in the connectivity of other pages or videos and audios loading. It’s convenient and adaptable for everyone.
The activities are instructional ( e.g. tutorials, drills) and facilitative(e.g. database, spell/grammar checker) . There are entries for each language aspect and skill like grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking for each level. The nature of the activities is dealing with individual work and control. The learner can independently follow audio/ video drills and instructions e.g about how to pronounce phonemes & words. Teachers may find the grammar and vocabulary activities are more valuable than listening and speaking ones. There is some flexibility in generating on-line quizzes based on the teacher’s methodology and approach. In general, this site is considered as a supplementary source of materials( lessons, ideas) and extra supportive activities for practicing some language features. Printable exercises enable them to select and add up building their own forms.
To conclude, this page belongs to one of the giant famous ESL sites, itesl.org, and most visited by teachers. The diverse activities can suite different ages and slices/levels of learners.I would recommend this site to intermediate ESL students due to its interesting timed quizes & exercises. Also, it's ,to some extent, valuable for teachers since it has a rich pocket of materials, lessons,techniques and other ESL/EFL sources. I imagine if this page viewed by 3D virtual educational world. Second life program offers great opportunity for effective learning communication and interactions between learners and teachers. I think that would flush unlimited visitors to iteslj.org website.

'The Kindle in the Classroom

While I was circumnavigating CALL journals and articles, the idea of managing the use of kindle in the classroom dag in my curiosity. The features combined with this device impressed me. Kindle drives my perception toward the covered pages’ burden on my shoulder and the students’ backs when we go to school every sun rise. I am going to get it soon and ,simultaneously, I am thinking about the probable issues attached to Kindle use inside the classroom. I was wondering how we can control and use kindle properly among the students during the lesson. In this article, I found an answer for one of my questions which is how we can avoid distraction and confusion interference when students highlight/make notes.
Interference occurs if the kindles have the same account. This would be amazing and practical if the students are interacting in a literature/writing class. They can share their comments and discussions effectively. Thus, it depends on the nature of the displayed material. In case of undesirable interference,
the “turn synchronization off “ button will make each student work independently.

What common that is technology facilitates our daily life activities for various purposes. Amazingly, it saves people’s life. CMC tool; Facebook helps Sanchez, a 44-year-old father whose kidneys were failing because of diabetes. He was hesitant when he posted a request on Facebook as his doctor suggested. His friends and relatives had all been tested and couldn't donate a kidney. He was uncertain to find a donor . 'Hey, I'll try. I'll get tested” by a Facebook member changed his life track.

Virtual classroom is an impressive technology. You can interact and enjoy communication in other settings with different ESL learners background. This technology motivates learners to experience another source of learning, sometimes, far from routine boredom. Undoubtedly, although it's interesting tool,it wouldn't be an alternative for face to face interaction.

Additional post #3:Dubai Airport Sleep Boxes
Flights delay usually bothers Passengers and makes them angry especially when they have a critical purposes. Waiting for the flight destination to open for long time in the airport sickens people.
It would be a nightmare if you have kids and your delayed flight is between 12 a.m. & 7 a.m.
Those sleep boxes in Dubai Airport are wonderful if you would like to take some rest. They may be suitable for individuals but, I guess, not for families. I think it is a NICE IDEA.
